Educational and Professional Experience:

While serving as a public school teacher, I was touched by the lives I interacted with in regard to children, their parents, and families. I loved my role as a public educator; yet, while teaching, I discovered that I also enjoyed counseling. During my time as a teacher, I had a part-time job as a behavioral assistant for a community based agency. Although I was not a therapist at that time, I realized that my work involved having conversations with families about how they could enhance their lives. Therefore, I completed a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling with an Emphasis in Trauma.

Pulling from both my teaching and counseling background, I am passionate about educating others how to advocate for themselves and become their own therapist. Through education, encouragement, and empowerment, I help clients to see how we all have the power to make meaningful changes in our lives to live a happier and more fulfilled life. I am a firm believer that although we cannot rewind time, we can make the most of the current moment we have. I will help you embrace your inner strength to make the changes that will foster happiness that lasts.

Approach to Wellness

Striving to create a joyful life in which I have peace in the midst of any circumstance is one of my main goals. Although every day is not perfect, I try to make the best out of every situation. To do this, I make sure that no matter how much I have on my plate, I leave space for self-care and personal enjoyment. I embrace the things that make me happy such as spending time with family, exercising, reading books and articles, journaling, painting, sewing, and cooking new cuisines. I also set aside 15 minutes daily to engage in quiet time in order to complete personal reflection.
