Education and Professional Experience
I am passionate about health and wellbeing and love to facilitate and help others feel nurtured and cared for. I have a background in nursing and worked as an RN on a cardio thoracic unit for 10 years and as a float nurse for 2 years until I retired to stay at home with my 5 kiddos. I love education and learning and enjoy living in a world where there is an abundance of ways and information available to learn and discover. I have two children with dyslexia, and am passionate about advocating for and tutoring children who struggle with reading and learning.
Approach to Wellness
I believe wellness is a feeling of balance and connection. I try to approach wellness and self care in a holistic way by cultivating the areas of body, mind, spirit, and connection with others. For me wellness is found when my values are aligned with my thoughts, speech and actions. It’s found by doing things that bring me joy, but it’s also found by being able to find meaning in difficult circumstances. Self care to me looks like connecting with God on a daily basis, taking walks first thing in the morning, spending quality time with family and friends, spending time in Nature, going to the beach, reading or listening to a podcast, cooking and eating good food, traveling, and gardening. I am grateful to be a part of the Sage Wellness team, and love being able to facilitate clients in their wellness journey!
