Education and Professional Experience
I am a proud Gator having completed my Masters, Specialist, and Bachelor’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Psychology from the University of Florida. (Go Gators!) I have experience providing therapy to individuals in both in and outpatient settings. I specialize in helping adolescents, college students, and adults who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, and trauma. I have expertise in helping clients in overcoming challenges in their relationships, past traumatic experiences, school, family and work stress, and in exploring aspects of their identity to create more fulfilling and meaningful lives. I also enjoy working with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC.
I counsel from a person-centered approach utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based, and mindfulness interventions. I provide an affirming environment for you to explore your concerns, identify and utilize your strengths, develop more helpful thinking patterns, and learn coping skills so that you can experience tangible growth in counseling. In therapy, I am sensitive to the barriers and unique experiences arising from your various identities, including race, gender, sexuality, or ability. Therapy is your time to focus on yourself and we will collaborate together to make it meaningful and helpful. It would be an honor to join you on your journey towards healing and wellness.
Approach to Wellness
I am committed to creating a life I am excited to wake up to. I try to look for the positives and appreciate what life has to offer. I am intentional about planning my week with activities that meet my physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. Every day, I set aside time to practice mindfulness and self-care. Some things that bring me joy are the beach, walking a nature trail with my two dogs, laughing, Zumba classes, eating sushi, spending time with friends, and crafting. For me, a big part of wellness is being connected to myself, others, and the world.
