Pronouns: she/her
Professional and Educational Experience:
I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York; Upstate New York will always hold a special place in my heart. Growing up surrounded by changing seasons, lakes, and the familiarity of home shaped much of who I am today. More recently, I’ve had the opportunity to make Florida home, trading some snowy days for sunshine and discovering a new appreciation for life near the water.
My interest in understanding people and relationships led me to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Binghamton University and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University. Throughout my clinical training, I worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing a variety of emotional, relational, and life challenges.
I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults navigating identity, relationships, family dynamics, and major life transitions, as well as couples and families experiencing conflict or disconnection. I have a particular interest in trauma, attachment, addiction, and family dynamics and how our earliest relationships and experiences can influence the way we understand ourselves and connect with others.
Approach to Counseling:
My approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that people do not exist in isolation. We are shaped by our relationships, families, experiences, environments, and the systems around us. I primarily work from an attachment-based, systemic, experiential, and trauma-informed perspective, integrating Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and child-centered and play-based interventions tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. I specialize in helping minors, teens, and adults to navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, addiction, and grief.
One of my favorite questions to explore in therapy is not simply, “How do we make this go away?” but, “Where did this come from, and what is it trying to tell us?” I am particularly interested in helping clients understand how their upbringing, attachment styles, trauma, and relationships may influence current patterns of communication, coping, boundaries, and connection. Understanding where our patterns began can help us decide what we want to carry forward and what we are ready to change.
When working with couples and families, I focus on the patterns and cycles that can leave people feeling stuck, disconnected, or misunderstood rather than determining who is “right” or “wrong.” I enjoy helping people who are experiencing an addiction, and in understanding how substance use can affect not only the individual, but relationships and the family system as a whole. Therapy as a collaborative process. You are the expert on your own experiences. At the same time, I bring curiosity, clinical knowledge, and a systemic perspective to help you better understand the patterns that have shaped your story and create meaningful change moving forward.
Approach to Wellness:
Wellness is found in the moments that allow me to slow down, reconnect, and be present. Some of my favorite moments are walking my dog through a beautiful park surrounded by trees and water, or having my toes in the sand while listening to the waves with an iced latte or sparkling water in hand. Being outdoors and near the water is one of the ways I feel most grounded.
I also value spending time with the people and animals I love, moving my body, laughing, and enjoying the small things in life. Moving from the place I had always known as home to beginning a new chapter in Florida has also given me a deeper appreciation for life transitions. Change can bring excitement and possibility while also holding uncertainty and discomfort, and I believe there can be room for all of those experiences at once.
I do not believe wellness is about having the perfect routine or doing everything “right.” Wellness is personal, and what restores one person may look completely different for another. I believe it is about discovering what helps you feel grounded, connected, and most like yourself and making space for more of those things in everyday life.
