Every year, over 3,000 people die by suicide in Florida alone. A death by suicide often is a surprise to their friends, families or work and spiritual communities. It’s crucial to recognize the signs, offer support, and encourage open conversations about mental health so we can help those in our community know they are valued and that support is available.
Every September, we come together to raise awareness, reduce mental health stigma, and support those in need. This month is a vital opportunity to remind Floridians that help is available and that suicide is often preventable.
