Professional and Educational Experience:

I grew up in a small town in Northeast Florida amidst the pine trees, salty beaches, and crystal-clear springs.  I was a wild and free child, mostly running barefoot in the woods building tree forts, or watching the moon create diamonds over the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and received a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University. I have worked at the Alachua County Crisis Center offering crisis and suicide intervention services, ongoing counseling services, and providing support through the Mobile Crisis Response Team.  Additionally, I have counseled families and couples working through difficult family dynamics, challenges, and transitions.

Approach to Counseling:

I offer an integration of various evidence-based therapy modalities together with mindfulness-based and trauma-informed interventions to provide a holistic approach that is tailored to each person’s unique goals.  As we build awareness, compassion, and acceptance to different parts of ourselves, it is possible to become a whole, more integrated, grounded person. My goal is to provide a secure, place for you to explore and be curious about your experiences and yourself yet challenge the barriers that prevent you from experiencing your best self.  I help clients to manage and reduce depression and anxiety symptoms, process relationship dynamics, heal old wounds, shift their old or unhelpful beliefs, manage life changes, and feel more present. I help couples and families improve communication, improve connection and intimacy, learn how to repair, and work through issues like infidelity, parenting, separation & loss.

I believe you are the expert of yourself. Accompanying you in utilizing the tools you possess to confront life’s challenges is truly an honor. My passion is to see people become full of joy, living fulfilled, satisfied, happy lives and enjoying the relationships around them.  It’s time to remove the barriers that are keeping you from living fully alive.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step (Lao Tse). It takes courage to begin your healing journey, and it’s the best investment you will make.  I’ve experienced one of the most profound elements in helping clients is the ability to genuinely empathize with and understand the challenges and suffering they have traversed.  I can attest that through some of the darkest and most confusing times in my life, therapy provided a safe, nonjudgmental environment for me to be vulnerable and honest with myself.  It gave me the place to process and explore parts of myself and past experiences, as a result I gained a sense of empowerment, support, and validation. I look forward to supporting you in your journey.

Approach to Wellness:

My approach to wellness is to stay aware of the balance in life.  I will forever continue to evolve and therefore, will continue to learn and grow, physically, mentally, and spiritually.  I thrive in nature, where I can slow down and enjoy the awe and wonder of the world around me.  I love exploring the Floridian wildlife, like paddleboarding in the springs, hiking through the woods, or surfing at the beach.  I am passionate about repurposing items, and you can commonly find me trying to put a large piece of furniture from the roadside in my trunk.  I love restoring furniture or bringing new life to something that was thrown away by making it useful, returning it to a purposeful life.  I come alive painting and use art as an expression that helps me understand my thoughts and emotions.  I enjoy the thrill of being an ongoing student and hope to learn to speak Spanish, learn to Tango, and play the piano fluently.  And most importantly, I enjoy spending time with the people of my heart in shared experiences.
